Hopfully the heating season will soon end so I was wondering if anyone has attempted to clean the dust from the heat exchangers for the heating system(hydro-hot). I can alway put the vacuum cleaner hose at the grill but I was wondering if the grills can be popped out or in some way removed so I can give them a good cleaning. They all seem to be in an enclosure so the easy way would be to remove the grill.

Sure, pop them out, clean/soak,squeeze the filters, then let them dry before putting them back (what I have done is purchase a couple of sheets of the same material as the filters, and cut a second set which I alternate with the original set).

Simply blow out the exchanger "fins" using compressed air. You'll also get the fans cleaned that way too. A quick vacuum to the dust dislodged and you're all set.
