I have had to replace all of my front amber and rear red top LED clearance light assembly. Now I have another one out that I need to replace. There seems to be moisture getting to the lights. When replacing the lights - I replace the foam gasket, light assembly and lens. I put silicone all around the outside to try to keep moisture out. I noticed that the original lights only had silicone across the top and side. I put silicone all around the lights. Should I do it all around or just the top?
I have been ordering through a dealer from Newmar.
Are there better lights than the original type? Is this a common and ongoing problem?
Thanks ................

I'd put sealant all around just to keep water from getting inside and staining the ceiling.
Some people place led lights but what your using should be ample.
My lights are 7 years old and no problems.

I set my clearance lights in the same mastic used to mount the windows and then seal the edges with a good RV caulk. Works fine, but silicon is not the best thing to us on an RV.

Newmar uses silicone on the tops and sides, leaving the bottom uncaulked for water drainage.

My original, bulb type clearance lights were cracking (plastic lenses), so I replaced them with the upgraded LED style or the same size and shape. I bought mine at the Kenworth shop for about $6.00 each. They also had every style of light and lense known to man, so it's a good place to check.
What I did was to look on the original lense to find the mfg and part no. and then called around to see who stocked that part.
BTW... mine came with chrome bezels which I didnt want to use, so I discarded them so they would match the originals.

Romeo, do you mean at a local Kenworth dealer or at an online Kenworth source?

They have just about any light on line that you would need.
