Co-Pilots Recliner Hard to Work?

Any hints out there to make this work better? It is hard to get up and even harder to get down?

Being I got no responses I thought maybe my post was confusing. I am talking about the chair that my wife is in while I am driving. The chair has the leg recliner feature which is very hard to work.

The only problem I have seen is that if you have the seat in its lowest position the bottom of the leg rest can rub the floor and will not extend or lower fully. Other than that it goes out and back in with the touch of the switch without any problems.

We just bought a 2018. Had the same problem. Told dealer no deal unless they replaced chair with a full electric. They had to order a new chair as they is no way to upgrade the existing one. Problem is they cannot match the existing, but wife is happy with the upgrade.

Do you mean the leg part? Ours is manual and a bit stiff to extend the leg part. However if you extend it fully it seems to be too far and I have had to physically move the metal mechanism attached to the lever to get it closed.

Yes it is the leg part and it is manual.

This is exactly what it does.

What model rig do you have and what brand seat is it?
Curious as we are picking up our new rig soon.
I will be checking the seat out for sure in the PDI.

Co-Pilots Recliner Hard to Work?

The seat is made by Flexsteel and our coach is a 2018 Bay Star.

I guess it’s a design issue. I feel like the lever that moves the footrest is going to round off by trying to move it. I’m scheduled for factory warranty work the first week of August so unless I figure out a mod I will ask them to look at it.

My 2018 Ventana LE is in for service work for this same issue. The effort the bring out the footrest is very significant and as a result the handle now has some play in it as well. This is only after being used no more than 10 times. I would make sure you document it early on while under warranty so if it breaks later outside of warranty you at least have some history to go to Newmar on.

Please let us know about the outcome of this?

Did you pick this up today and if so was anything done for the hard to work recliner?

Our complaint about the copilot reclining seat is that, with the passenger side slide in, there is too little room to fully extend the recliner comfortably. Space is too tight. This is a design problem - perhaps a dilemma. If one were to provide more space for the reclining passenger seat, it would seem that you would have to reduce the size of the curb side slide. That may - or may not be a good trade-off.
