I am going to travel a bit this winter and have a couple of questions that I don't trust my dealer to answer accurately.
1. I cannot find a thermostat or any other switch or control for the little heater in the wet bay. I assume that is part of the hydronic heating system and would work off of electric or the diesel fuel boiler?
Very little heat comes out of it...and some times none. When does it turn on..how do I prove it works?
2. I have a heater pad switch in the bathroom...I can't visually confirm that I have heat pads...have crawled around for a while...can't see them and don't want to take things apart. Have been told they only work on 110volts? So you don't use them while traveling..unless you run on the inverter? How do you determine if they work? Would the EMS system show some current draw?
I will be in areas where it may get to + 20F..but not any colder. What needs to be turned on while traveling? Same question..while camping?

Search these forums "cold weather travel" "cold weather camp" and the like and you'll find dozens of posts (just in the past couple weeks alone) to help you....

Okay, let's take one thing at a time.
Your Aqua Hot or Oasis, whatever, is not only heated by electrical or diesel burner, but also by the running main engine. There are lines that heat exchange from the engine heat to the furnace/aqua hot. When running in cold weather always leave your "Furnace" setting on,(without the diesel burner or electric element on) where ever you would like warmth. The engine will maintain this including your basement.
There should be a small adjustment screw to raise or lower your basement heat located to the right side of the water bay.
Your tank heat pads are for stopped cold weather applictions

lugnut...will look again soon..but what would the adjustment for the basement heat look like and be attached to? Also..when sitting..plugged into 110 volt shorepower...witj Oasis turned on and AC heat selected for OASIS ( instead of Diesel) do I have to turn my thermostats on to " heat " to get the basement heat exchanger to function?...Another words..doi I need to heat the entire coach to heat the basement?

There is a small knob in the water compartment for the storage bay heating. It's located on the upper left side of the water panel, it may be different on your coach. If I remember correctly it only goes to 50 deg F. and runs independently from your main heating system. Be sure to have your diesel heat switch on to get maximum heat.

Finally got my 2010 DS out of storage and back to my house. I either have a few things not working...or I just don't know how to turn them on.
1. With engine running and warmed up...and Oasis system turned on ..but thermostats off.....the hydro heat fan switch( on dashboard) does nothing..little led does not come on..no fan , no heat. Do I have to have the thermostat set to heat on ?..i think I tried that and it made no difference..but not sure.
2. have looked everywhere for a thermostat adjustment in the wet bay for the little heat exchanger...no heat coming out of there..it's about 55 degrees....have no idea if it works? possible it is not adjustable and it wasn't cold enough?
None of these things are show stoppers..but I would like to know if it's the rig or me...?

Do you have this information on usage of your controls for your heating system?

Am I correct in concluding that the wet bay heater has to be either on the zone 1 or zone 2 heat loop? If so...does the cabin thermostat have to be set to furnace on to make it work? Or am I still confused ( highly likely) ?

On my 2006 I have a thermostat switch in the water bay. I keep it set at 40 degrees.

On my 2006 DSDP I do not have a thermostat in the water bay compoartment, just a switch to put the blowe 'ON' - and blower is dependant on the Duotherm Furnace thermostat - Do not understand Ronnie's post as he has the same year as mine

Renden,
The confusion is probably due to different heating systems. Yours sounds like the standard, propane-fired furnace. While Ronnie (and the original poster) are talking about hydronic heating systems... many of which have multiple zones. With one being in the basement/water compartment. It seems that some systems have a thermostat to control that hydronic zone... but it's possible that the newer coaches with Oasis brand systems may not.
