Having read this and other threads on the Comfort Drive, I think I'm strongly inclined, despite some reservations, to start with the CD on the top of my list. Doing so, it follows that my list narrowly and automatically includes/forces me into... a diesel made by Newmar.

In this instance, the floor plan and other considerations are secondary. In fact, with a bit of effort I can make the necessary modest floor plan changes to an older 2008,9, or 2010 Ventana, Kountry Star, or Dutch Star, but somewhat dependent on the length as I research it, and somewhere in the 100k to 150k range, as a budget.

This knocks the Breeze, Bus, and Red out of my considerations, as well as something like a Canyon Star or Bay Star gas...as well as the older Dutch Stars, unfortunately. But, the risk of regret seems low to me compared to potential benefits, even if some of those benefits are arguable or not stone clear.

And arguably it is not floor plan, floor plan, floor plan for me personally since I have a diy willingness to tear up the place a bit. It now becomes Comfort Drive, Diesel, Newmar.

I don't have enough information including the timing of NADA related to the sales, but just looking at three sales on the PPL website, two 2007 Kountry Stars were sold a bit below low retail NADA. The one 2008 Dutch Star was sold halfway between low and average NADA. It is too much of a jump to make, however, my guess is that the Comfort Drive had some or even a key influence on the higher price the seller got for his rig. Making the big assumption that all factors were otherwise the same, which is unreasonable, that would price the value of a comfort drive in the range of $15,000.

I would be willing to pay that much for it, despite the confusion, as a long term bet I did the right thing.

Too many variables! You would have to assume the Buyer knew that CD even existed (or was familiar enough with it). It could also very well be a shopper that did not check NADA, bought quick, did not negotiate as hard etc etc. My friend just bought a new Ventana about two months ago, he bought a Newmar per my recommendation mostly but he knew nothing about CD until after purchase, after I educated him about it... I don't disagree with the fact an educated Buyer might pay more for CD but not $15K. An earlier poster said $5k...

Too many variables - that is what I said, I don't have enough information. Glad you agree with me.
