You may not have a seperate connection for your portable dish. It is not usually a standard item from Newmar. We have had 2 Newmars built for us and had to special order the extra sat line for the portable dish both times. Newmar ran the extra line from the sat box area up front to the outside compartment containing the power cord, cable hookup, and phone jack. The sat line is gray in color and is labled "satellite". You may want to do a thorough search of your power cable box to see if by chance there is a sat line.

I'm not familiar with your rig but most I have seen have a control switch somewhere in the overhead. You could connect the dish to the CATV in that is somewhere outside, maybe where your shore power is then hook the satellite receiver to the CATV coax. One problem is that you will be kind of stuck using Satellite even if there is CATV available. Some kind of switch might solve that.
That would eliminate having the coax going through a window.

If you have to run the coax through the window, get one of the newer FLAT COAX that you can close the window on.

Hi AndrewC,
I have an 05 KSDP. I have used the cable TV connection, in the electrical bay to use a portable sat. dish. For me, it worked fine. Consider trying this wire first, before trying another solution.

I hook my DirecTV dish to the outside CATV cable then inside the coach I unhook the CATV cable from the multi-switch and plug it into the DirecTV box and then plug the DirecTV box into the multi-switch where the CATV cable was. Since I use the DirecTV dish all the time I don't use local cable. That way I have the channels I want during an entire trip.
