Considering 2016 Dutch Star purchase

Anyone who owns one or has knowledge of that year willing to provide any advice of what problems I should look for or any general advice on that year and model?

Do you have a model size in mind, tag axle?

It would most likely be a 40 ft model such as 4018 with a tag.

Considering 2016 Dutch Star purchase

The 2016 40-43 footers had an issue with the front axle capacity being exceeded, Newmar fixed many of them under warranty by upgrading the front axle.
The weight of the refrigerator in the FWS slide caused some of the slides to become unleveled , Newmar installed a brace behind the refrigerator to reinforce the slide.
Freightliner had alignment issues with the tag axle, some accounts of this continuing for several attempts .
And a recall on the power steering hose rubbing on a bolt near the starter that could and did cause fires, make sure that recall has been done.
Good chance of most of this being corrected, just keep your eyes open

My 2002 DSDP was overweight when it left the factory if I filled the fuel and propane tanks BEFORE we loaded anything aboard or even got in. Newmar had Spartan replace the 12,000# OEM axle with a 14,600# unit as well as changing to heavy duty front wheels. When done they also issued the rig a new Federal weight sticker.

Thanks for your input. Aside for the recalls which they have to address, what recourse would I have if those issues you mentioned have not been addressed previously as the coach is no longer under warranty (correct me if I am wrong). Would newmar cover those known issues?

That would be a question for Newmar Customer service, if I were you I would call them with the actual vin number. They can also advise you of its org in service date and remaining warranties if any, some of these issues will be on FL, you may also need to call them.

Great advice. Will call newmar and report back. Anything else to look for or need to research on the coach before purchasing? Thanks for your help.
