When Newmar lists the width as 101.5", is that with the slides in our out?

If it's with the slides in, how much wider is it with them out?

Slides in! The slide out measurement depends on the depth of the slides and if you have opposing slides or not.

With what ever model you choose, stick with Newmar. There is NO comparison in quality between Newmar and Gulf Stream. Newmar is miles a head in quality and customer service.

We tried a Gulf Stream Super Nova but the quality so so poor our dealer bought it back and we opted for our Newmar 5ver.

You'll be much happier with a Newmar of any model.

With only two children, I would also add the 3950 to yoru list. It gives the children their own "room" not just a coffin bunk. It also gives you add square footage in the coach. My coach has a little over 420 sqft with the slide out.

The All Star 3950 is on my list.

There are good and bad features for every model. With the 3950, I worry about my 21 month old falling down the steps. Also, there's a little less privacy for us. You also lose the large storage area that you get with the All Star 4154 under the bedroom.

You already mentioned the good features of the 3950.

The 4154 has that massive storage underneath. The only downside for it compared to the 3950 is that it's 2 feet longer than the 3950. That makes it even tougher to squeeze into some spots. I'll be towing a 22' car trailer some times, so every foot matters.

The All Stars have enough towing capacity for my open trailer (@5500lbs), but I like overkill for towing. That's the advantage that the Ventana 3942 and 3945 have.

The 3945 gives the kids their own bunkbed room that is separate from the master bedroom.

The downside of the 3945 compared to the 3942 is that you lose some living area space.

Every few days I seem to have a new favorite model. Another problem is that I can't see all of these models in person. In fact, the only one I can see in person is the Ventana 3942.

You should have much better towing performance on the Allstar then you would on the Ventana models.

Yeah, I don't quite understand their tow capacity ratings on the All Star. You can get a 400 cummins in the All Star, the Ventana I believe tops out at the 360, yet the Ventana is still rated higher? You would think the All Star with a mid engine 400 would be an ideal towing setup. I guess there is more to it then that. For us, we needed a minimum of 10k, and didn't feel the 360 in the Ventana was enough larger than the 350 in our Winnebago, so with that, along with other factors, went with the Kountry Star with the 400.

About the only difference between the 4154 AllStar and the Kountry Star is the wheelbase(6" more on th KS). I would question Newmar on the ratings as it may be only the receiver needs to be changed.

According to Newmar's brochure, the 4154 is only available with the 360.

My understanding from the Newmar rep and dealer is yeah thats what the brochure says, but you can order it with a 400. Of course, we went with the KS, so never got to the point of really finding out if that were true or not. I did begin to inquire about what the weak link was that limited the All Star, but ended up choosing the KS for other reasons as well and so never finished pursing the details with Newmar.
