I have a Newmar Kountry Star Fifth Wheel. The converter works well producing 12 DC when I am plugged into the 110 source. My battery does not charge. I replaced the battery with a new deep cycle. It does still not keep my battery charged.

Suggestions. I am not a master mechanic. Please keep it simple.

Thanks!

My Jayco 5th wheels had an in-line fuse in the battery positive lead between the battery and converter. If it were blown, the converter would still put out 12VDC to the lights, etc. when plugged into shore power, but the battery would never charge. Just something to check.

My current Mobile Suites has a 12V isolation switch in the exterior compartment with the leveling jack switches. When it's switched off (as it might be when one stores the RV), it isolates the batteries from the 12VDC system. That's another possibility.

jojolima,

I used to have a Kountry Star Fifth Wheel, Model 34BKWB. In the bathroom there was a cabinet that contained the DC fuses as well as a Red Handled switch which had the job of disconnecting the battery from the coach when in storage. Someone may have turned this switch off and the battery cannot charge in that condition. Hope that helps.

JoJolima,

Good suggestions. If none of these work for you, look at this Trik-L-Start deal. For $50,or so, it'll solve your problem.

Good luck,
