Cork flooring instead of tile

We are working towards a 2019/2020 DS and wonder if anyone has one with cork floor vs tile? I like the soft feel vs the hard feel.

a) not sure if Newmar would even consider such a thing.
b) it would be the cork tile not the floating floors.

love to hear of anyone factory ordering a recent DS and getting off the wall custom stuff done like the above....

Cork would be nice but my concern would be wear when slides are brought in an out? Not sure if there is actual contact with flooring.

yeah that is my biggest question after "Will they even do it for me?"

I believe the newer slides never actually touch the floor with that magic lift and move mechanism. But maybe I'm wrong and then this is probably a very bad idea.

If they were to offer it, doubt that they would even as a special since it is truly a custom choice not just a switch from another higher or lower end coach, you would probably not be able to do heated floors.

True only on HWH hydraulic slide. On my 18 DS 4369 two are touching the floor

We have an 18 DS 4052 which is a 4 slide floor plan. None of our slides touch the floor. I would have preferred a wood floor, but did not try to get Newmar to install it as a special. What we did do, was to install a King Aire floor tile which is not high gloss as the reflection of the ceiling lights in the floor was offensive to me as well as the slippery nature of the high gloss tile.

I'm not a huge fan of tile floors. Dropped too many dishes in my time.... Plus with modern cork tiles it's warmer, softer, totally waterproof, works on heated floors and nice on the tootsies

But really wasn't expecting much positive news. Maybe by 2020 Newmar will have read this thread and explored the feasibility

I hear cork doesn't do well with pets on it. Try bamboo - really tough.

I would like to see some options. Not a fan of tile.
