Corner weight doesn't sound right

Good morning,

I weighed each corner and the passenger side is much heavier in the rear. I have a full tank of fuel and full water with almost everything loaded but clothing and some things in the refrigerator. Here is what I have. I am below the limits, but passenger side is much heavier. The drive axle is 1900 pounds heavier on passenger side. I don't have but maybe 500 pounds of cargo in bays and that is a high estimate. I can move toolbox to drivers side but that is only about 100lbs. What do you think?

Not uncommon, our '02 DSDP was heavier on the passenger side front and drivers side rear. I don't remember the actual figures now.

My 2016 4037 was recently weighed in Gaffney. Rear side-to-side was only off by 100 lbs. Can you get it re-weighed?

There is something wrong because your tags are not showing 50% of the drive wheels. If your tag shows 4000 lbs your drive wheel should show 8000 lbs (give or take a little). This is how Freightliner sets up the chassis so, you may need to have it checked.
BTW. My right rear drive is 400 lbs heavier than the left.

Hi Tony - Was the ride height checked prior to weighing? I'm betting you have a low corner.

No, the scale I used was borrowed from a friend. I just pulled the wheels on it and weighed it.

I think I will thanks for your info. A few hundred pounds sounds reasonable but this didn't make sense to me.

1. It's unfortunate but not unusual to fine side to side weights with 1000 plus pounds difference.
2. I'm not sure your weights are reliable enough to hang your hat on.

You should check around for certified scales. cat scales at truck stops are good but rarely set up so you can accurately get wheel position weights and that's what you need.

A couple of points:
1. When pulling onto the scale, make sure you are set up straight so you can pull straight forward.
2. After you are set up ready to pull onto the scale do this:
A. Turn off your engine.
B. Completely blow down your air bags so you are resting on the snubbers.
C. Start engine. When you are back at ride height, pull straight forward onto the scale.

These air suspensions are designed to function while traveling not sitting still. This procedure will give you the best chance of accurate weights.

Have your ride heights checked. Also check with Newmar. I seem to remember asking about how big a difference you can have side to side. I think it was 1000 or 1500lbs. With a 1900lb delta something is very much wrong.

Hi - One other issue besides being sure that the ride height is correct. The spot you put the scales on at has to be level. With portable scales this is essential. Also do not put the coach in reverse and do not lock the brakes.

It sounds like you weighted one wheel position at a time. As example if the left side drive wheels are on the portable scale and the corresponding right side drive wheels are setting on the ground. The weights will be wrong. Accurate weights require the coach be level front to back and side by side.

Get it reweighted on a certified scale.

I see you are in socal. I had each of my corners weighed at Pete's Tire in Fullerton and I am 1000 lbs heavier on the RR.

why air down and then air back up prior to weighing ?

If the ride heights were off, the front split right and left would indicate a much higher difference. Ride heights appear okay. I think you have had a bad weighing and should redo.
