My 99 has a , Sony model ; CDX-C480; AM/FM/CD player with a removable face plate. The numbers are on an equipment list with the weight sticker , back wall of a kitchen cupboard. Probably obsolete the day it was installed.
Control buttons are small, overall a complex unit , you have to take your eyes off the road too long to do anything with it, DW hates it with a passion, because I won't use it and she has to un-buckle to reach it.
Paper work says the unit was available with an optional remote, that may have helped, with her objections to it.
Radio up-grading is not rocket science and if I enjoyed ( wanted to listen ) to it while driving I'd spring for a different unit.
You say the replacement that you have won't work; have you had it tested or tried to get it working?

I've got to agree with Skip, why try to install an old radio? Lots of newer models will fit the space, and any features the original had can be had in new radios plus many features that weren't available in the older one. (Bluetooth, USB, iPhone compatibility, etc.) I installed a new radio after the first trip with the old one in my RV, I now have a remote velcroed on my steering wheel that allows control of the stereo without needed to reach.

Most OEM radios are fair at best. If I were to replace mine, it would be with a radio that is an upgrade from what I have. It would also have to be easy to use. Voice activated would be nice.

The original unit may have been a Visteon. My 2004 has one and is model number 2L8T18C815 if that helps, it is now discontinued, but Visteon is still operating. Here is a link to their website: Visteon Corporation: Leading Automotive Global Supplier.
You may also go the the ComNet link at the top of the Sticky: Newmar QUICK TIPS & EASY MODS # 3 thread. Enter your Newmar coach serial number in the coach specific section to get info for your specific coach. The Com Net site is not always up and running so you may have to keep trying.

Other than that I would also recommend you buy a new unit with newer features, such as auxiliary inputs, and install it. A good place to start would be Crutchfield's website. Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, Pro Audio, 4k TV

after reading several comments, I think I have the original radio with snap off face etc. its a bad system I cannot get it to work I was thinking an old AM FM would be great This one has small buttons the face falls off if you push the wrong one,, and why does the face come off anyway.. I guess I'll be going to best buy and get a auto radio. Thanks for the reply

Have you checked if your radio get power when parked and when engine is running? If not, do not forget there is a by directional switch in the electrical bay that prevent chassis batteries from draining when parked and using the radio.
Coach came with sony radio removeable faceplate.

Ours quite so I went ot best buy and upgraded to a JVC model with a remote. I had to buy a spacer kit to match the existing opening in the dash.....install was easy. The new radio was far better then the original and the bonus was the remote. The only thing I have to do is turn it on and the DW runs the remote.......a safer mode of travel in our opinion. FYI
