I have a 2006 DSDP, 38 footer, and I just got my third cracked windshield. I bought the unit, used, about 16 months ago and drove it cross country. I then got a cracked windshield on the upper right side of the passenger window. My second one was about 3 months later on the same windshield, that had just been replaced. This crack in in the lower section running from the frame, probably a rock started that one. My third was just last month, after another trip, this time on the driver's side up on top. All of these cracks run horizontal. It is a good thing that I have extra windshield coverage on my insurance. I only have to pay the 100 deductible.

I read an old thread about this problem that suggested that the HWH leveling jacks, when used on uneven surfaces, can contribute to the tweaking of the frame thereby cracking the windshield. I am definitely guilty of trying to level the unit on some uneven surfaces. Just wanted to get input that this is probably what led to my cracked windshield before I change my bad leveling habits at campgrounds.

Welcome to the forum Stewart.
If you use AUTO levelers on uneven ground cracked windshields can result.
You should level them manually on uneven grounds.
The best way I have found is to lift each side rail, front & rear jack same rail, which ever the yellow light is lit first than lift opposite rail till level.
Once you have rails level you can lift both front jacks or rear jacks if yellow light is lit at those ends. Never lift rear duals almost off the ground coach could shift and snap jack mounts.
Do not over lift front or rear ends you may bend frame rail so door may bind.
