CS3911 Slooooooow Slide

2013 Canyon Star 3911 (Handicap accès model)

The wilds take forever to go out. Is this normal?
We bought form a consignment dealer, so could not ask original owner.

Also, the driver side rear slide seal seems to get stuck to the side, so when we pull the slide in it kinda begs us to "rip the bandaid off slower"...
Then you can hear it come loose and the slide closes normally (slooooooow)

Thoughts, comments?

Seems to me that Newmar slides are different. We bought our new CS last August and the slides haven't seemed right to me since new.

This is my 9th motorhome and all but 1 had slides. None have ever been as noisy, jerky, bumpy, creaky and odd sounding as these Newmar slides are. Every time I operate them I think something is going to break. So far so good.

We are going to the factory in early June to have some warranty issues resolved. One of the things I want them to do is to have someone who knows about slides to tell me that they are operating as they should. We'll see.

I also have the same "sticky seal" issue you describe.

Same experience. Our 4th RV, never have we had this kind of scary performance.

Coach batteries fully charged, plugged into 50 amp power source, or generator running the slide moves slowly. That is Newmar's design, it is slow but sure with power to break things if the slide locks are engaged.

Rub some baby powder on the seals and/or wax the sides of the slide to prevent the seals from sticking as badly.

Do you subscribe to the new 3 in 1 series of lubes?
I see they have a window track lube, and slide seal lubricant.
Just wondering.

for what it's worth

Our CS is our first RV. We did factory pick up to make sure we got up to speed as quick as possible. After lurking forums for years(?!) we knew slides were an issue so we paid close attention to operations and asked many questions.

We have four slides. None are what you would call fast. the lighter slides back aft move without much drama other than having to seat the door side slide to overcome topper tension.

The larger slides up forward have significantly more "character" when moving. They move slowly, pop up and down as the rollers move full travel, and are more temperamental to coach level.

We exercised the heck out of them at the factory. The tech was patient and helped me understand the mechanism and the nuances of the equipment.

Our first set up post factory we experienced an issue with the off side fwd slide. Just wouldn't move. we had a door side list that wasn't extreme but was noticeable. We set the jacks, leveled the coach and the slide deployed as normal.

We are just using our initial experiences as what is "normal" for our coach, if/ when you get back to factory you can get a better read from the experts.

Regards
j
