Cummins would be the one fixing any problem with the engine, but would Cummins back us up against a warranty company for going 12 months between oil changes?
Almost looks like us Cummins diesel engine owners are caught like they say " between a rock and a hard place". The only reason I purchased an extended warranty was the high price of fixing a cratered engine.

Once past Cummins warranty, most extended warranties are going to state you must follow engine makers service intervals. If Cummins says six and you go 12, I'm not sure that would turn out well with an extended warranty claim.

The Cummins Owners Manual ISL9 CM2350 L101 that came with my 2015 Dutch Star for Oil Drain Intervals states on the Maintenance Guideline "Typical Application - Recreational Vehicle, Vehicle Average Speed - Higher than 40 MPH, 20,000 Miles or 12 months."
Based on having this Manual wonder how secure I can be that my Extended Warranty would adhere to this schedual? If Cummins changes things after our coach is purchased new can we request any change be sent to us in writing from Cummins?
Sounds like Cummins is trying to change the game plan after the rules and the game has already started.

I am in the 20K/12month camp and will continue to do oil testing for JG Lubricants.

Assuming the extended warranty says something like, "service the vehicle, including lubricating oil, at the manufacturers recommended intervals" or something like that, then having that manual should keep you in compliance. I don't think they would have much recourse to say that after you took delivery that Cummins changed the oil changer interval.

Hopefully the current crop of manuals are just a screwup (with the average MPH only going up to 15 MPH, which makes no sense) and they will fix them and add the full charts back in.

My manual chart shows "Average speed Below 5 mph, 5-10 mph, 10-15 mph, 15-20 mph, 20-25 mph, 25-30 mph, and 30-40 mph, all 6 months, all as heavy duty trucks like dump truck, fire truck, shuttle bus, etc."
The only 12 months is for Average mph higher than 40 and for Recreational Vehicle, at the bottom of the chart.
Maybe somehow they just dropped the last part of the chart.

That's what I"m thinking/hoping and hope they correct. Especially with the comments that Flyboy said about his trip to Spartan and what others mentioned that Cummins said at Hershey. Hopefully, they get the documentation corrected.

It's lame that their manuals, and Quickserv, doesn't reflect this and the people on 800Cummins and their email support don't know it.

We just attended Freightliner school. Annual oil change recommended, no matter of miles (for RV’s). Trucks are different story.

Hadn't checked in about a month, but just logged into Quickserv and Cummins has updated and fixed the manuals.
Both the owners manual and operations/maintenance manual for the L9 CM2350 L116B
now have the full chart like they used to, which lists RV (averaging 40+ MPH) at 12 months/20,000 miles.

Many thanks for offering a clarification of the issue. Unaware of all the
"confusion" 'til now, I'm continuing my ANNUAL oil/filter change. Larry

Same here. For our 400 HP Cummins its 1 year or 20K miles. We were in Gaffney at Freighliner Factory service and they confirmed this..
