we are seriously considering purchasing a 2009 4333 Ventana. Any feedback on torque and power would be greatly appreciated.
In a year or so, we will got Full time...don't want to make a mistake on this big purchase.
Thanks

Hi cfyanes,
For me, a high level rule is 1 HP per 100 lbs of weight, no more. Take a look at the GVWR of the Ventana + the weight of your toad. That will give you a ball park if the engine and coach are properly mated. There is more to satisfactory performance than this, but it is a place to start. Nothing beats driving the coach and see if you like the performance. One must remember the demo coach will not be full of fluids and your stuff.

Looks like he will need 400-450 HP.

To me that's not enough HP/torque. We have the ISC 350 with a Banks so it's now 435/1200. Our weight is about 32,000 although GVWR is 34,000.

We have a 2011 Ventana 3962 with the ISB 350

Around town & on the flats the power is fine and the milage is good.

Out west and on the hills with a toad it is marginal. I feel as if I'm flogging the motor to get over the top in 3rd and 4th gear.

Something that size, you probably want 400+ HP and 1000+ torque, which means a Dutch Star and a lot more money.

If I had to do it over again, I'd get a bigger motor.
