My friend has a 2001 Numar Mountain Air MH built on a Spartan chassis. Powered by a 8.3L Cummins ISC, 350 HP diesel engine. His radiator fan is operated by a continuously running hydraulic motor powered by the power steering pump.
He says that he saw an advertisement for a kit or retro fit unit that operates the fan thermostatically only when needed, now that he is planning on doing some work on the MH he can’t find the information. Is there anybody here that is familiar with this?
Richard

Hi richardcoxid,
I tried this with my ISC earlier this year. Both the shop doing the work and Cummins say there is no after market fan kit for the ISC. Horton is a big player in this market. Go to Welcome to Horton Worldwide to see their catalog. If you find something, please post here.

I believe the hydraulic fan system in your rig is a two speed set-up. The speed is controlled by the ECM and is based on several factors. I don't know how much you would save trying to reduce this load more, may be hardly enough to pay for itself. I always liked the hydraulic fan drive system and wish I had it on mine.
