Hello, everyone.
I'd like to replace the hideous Sony dash stereo in my Scottsdale with one of the stereos that Newmar uses in their current production, but I can't identify the make/model of the new stereo from the photos I've seen on the various web sites. The unit has a black faceplate & looks like it's in a DIN-and-a-half or double-DIN chassis, but that's as much as I can make out. So, if you own a recent Newmar gasser (2005 or newer) can you please identify for me the make/model of your dash stereo?
There's no need for you to reply if your dash stereo is a single-DIN unit.
Thanks.

The Stereo in my 05 KSDP is a VISTEON,it's a double DIN size.
Just Google it: Visteon Stereo, and you find all kinds of info, repair and after market.
A single CD and also a 6CD is avail.

Thanks for your help, guys. I never thought of checking out Visteon; I thought they were of SonyKenwoodAlpinePioneerJVC origin (which they may still be )
I'll check out Delphi too.

Mahlon,
I don't know if this is of any interest to you but I just replaced the radio with CD player in my DSDP with an upgrade unit so I could get XM. IF you want the old original factory nit you are welcome to it. It sounded good, judt wasn't sattelite compaitable. Nice CD unit too as it held 5 or 6 CDs at a time.

007, I'm not entirely sure that mine has a CD changer in it, but I may be mistaken (I've never gotten that far into it). I'm out of town on business this week; will check when I get home.

007, the unit I love to hate is a Sony CDX-CA700X. Details can be found here. It's also equipped with a XA-300 AUX-IN Selctor (details here) that's used to connect the TV audio to the head (it's overkill just doing that). It's a single-disk deck.
HTH.

Thats the same Sony CD player I have plus aux for TV that I have used on occasion. It can use a 6 or 10 disk player also thats what I'am looking for because it plugs into aux unit. The CD/MD player may be out of production will check some thing else. Thanks for the links needed the aux instructions. Maybe Sundog has the 6 disk player. "007"
