Lightbulb Custom cockpit/stair mats

Last year at the Hershey RV show, we noticed a Tiffin dealer had really nice custom carpets on the stairs and cockpit of all the diesel pushers.

I took a note of the company name on the carpets:

Wade RV

I finally got around to contacting them. They sent me a set of plastic templates that were 90% perfect as is. I marked them up and trimmed as instructed and sent them back.

A week or two later, we received a very nice set consisting of a cockpit mat and two stair covers. I've very happy with the fit and finish. They were a little pricy but a nice touch to an area we've struggled with covering properly since we bought the MH.

Attached are a couple of photos.

I keep putting off ordering them for one reason or another, but they look great in your coach so I think I've been properly motivated! 😎

I like that. Was it a generic template or do they ask for your coach model type?

I'll give them a try.

Do the mats slip around, or is there some sort of way to have them stay put...but yet pick them up when needed/desired?

They are a small jobber located within the Lazy Days facilities in Sefford FL. You can stop by and have them custom measured/installed or do it remotely. They use sticky-backed velcro to hold them in place.

Not a generic template. I supplied them with my make and model, then they sent the template. The only place I made modifications was around the seat mounts and at top straight edge of the stairs. They leave the template about 6" long there so you can get the top stair sill exactly right. The complex curve along the front, pedals, drivers foot rest, steering column, etc were all right on.

There are Velcro pads at the corners but I didn't stick them on. The backing doesn't slip on the tile floor at all.

What is the carpeting material? Is it a quality covering or the cheap stuff that I could get at Lowes or Home Depot?

I'm not sure what you can get in Loews or Home Depot but is is sturdy mat type material. Not really carpet, more like a door mat. Seems like it will hold up. Certainly a LOT more robust than the Newmar carpet we have in places.

No, this is NOT HD or Lowes stuff. Better grade-we've used them for years and will hold up well.

These are nice mats. Some friends of ours recently got them for their Ventana and are pleased with them. We are planning to get some this winter when we are down in Florida, but we will be in Nappanee in August and I was wondering if anyone knew of a similar service there???

We had great ones made at Bock Rug Works in Elkhart, Indiana. 574 522-3191. We actually purchased carpet from Newmar and took piece to him.

Thank you newmarpusher for the info. I was considering cocomats, but will give Wade a try too.

https://www.cocomats.com/

They make custom mats for cars and I have used for years with great quality work. If they don't have the layout, they will send you a template for custom fit. you can pick what ever material and colors you like.
