Customer Service email

Anyone have Newmarís customer service email? This past weekend our Newmar rear rock guard fell apart. See picture attached. I wanted to send it in to see if theyíd consider replacing it. I know itís a long shot since our coach is 2 1/2 years old now but thought itís worth a shot!Click image for larger version

Do yourself a favor. Get rid of it. It is nothing but advertising billboard for Newmar.
I can give you a deal on mine if you insist on having one. Iím In Titusville TGO.

You're lucky you didn't lose it. I lost one from my old Monaco Camelot on the interstate. Never did find it and expensive to replace.

Good luck.

I see you tow a Platinum Explorer. I'm thinking of towing my 2017. When you get a chance, PM me and let me know how you set it up and how you like it.
Thanks,
Mike

Mine is hanging on the wall of my garage. I have no idea what good it's supposed to do on the motorhome. As near as I can tell it's only functions are (A) advertising and (B) picking up rocks and throwing them at the toad.

I do like the look and donít mind the advertising as I love my Newmar. I did just take mine off and left it at my nephews in Battle Ground, WA. We are headed to Alaska and didnít want to take the chance of increasing rock damage on toad.

Ok, first, one on Alpine is still hanging strong, one of the few things done and made well. Enlighten me, it's a rock guard, supposed to "stop rocks", are you all saying it does not stop rocks? Mine certainly did.

Brian....no offense, but you most likely backed it into something or crushed it when the coach was in an unlevel site where the front of the coach was high and the rear squatted during leveling. I think Newmar will see it the same way, but give it a try.

Newmar uses plastic for their rock guard which is fine and is lightweight, but is probably not the best material. There is a company called Dura Flap that sells both the entire flap with chrome or just the rubber. Many flaps are cut to different shapes by different coach manufacturers. If you purchase from Dura Flap, they will cut the new rubber piece to the same shape you have now, so it will clear the structure under your coach.

In regards to having a flap....I like them. They can be a pain and over the years I've damaged them a few times, usually while leveling. On all my coaches, I rework how they hang. I shorten them up and add a removable link as I have to take mine off to get it in the backyard.

I'm currently at a Newmar rally and looking at the 44 coaches that are here, the majority of them still have their flaps in place, so I guess the majority keep theirs on.

There is a Newmar rock guard for sale in the classifieds section. Here's the link: NEWMAR Rock Guard Flap - Dutch Star - RV & Motorhome Classifieds

Good job Don. I like my flap and think that it does do as intended, maybe not all of the time of course, but it has to catch a few of the flying rocks that get stuck in the tire groove. I also customized mine a little by attaching two eye bolts on each side corner. I then made two "S" type hooks that attach to the under carriage of my coach. That way I can easily raise the flap and get it out fof the way while backing into camp sites that might have a curb stop that the rear of my coach needs to clear.
It keeps the flap looking nice. It's about a 30 second job to attach the "S" hooks to each side. I've seen simpler methods where people just have a rope type attachment that attaches the flap to the hitch that works fairily well but it tends to droop on each corner, but helps somewhat anyway.

Same thing happened to mine. My fault I came down an incline and turned to sharp, lesson learned!!
I took my guard off the coach, then straightened the top bar and the "L" Bar. When I reassembled I drilled two new holes on either side of the ripped out holes , then added bolts. Other then a few scratches on the chrome part it looks good.

I just heard back from Newmar and they advised there's nothing they are willing to do, was worth a shot though! Guess I'll be going your route and drilling some new holes to get it back to be able to put on coach as I do like the look of them.

I had the exact same thing happen to mine AFTER they installed a brand new one on my trip home from Nappanee. I will be curious to see what they say when I am back for my annual maintenance this year...

I think they install these too low. When we picked up our new coach at the factory, I had them raise it at least an inch or two (can't remember exactly). The lower it is, the more likely to get damaged. It is very easy to raise it.
