I've been chasing a problem with the dash air conditioner on my 2019 Canyon Star. I've had it back to Nappanee and to my dealer. Both checked it and said the charge and pressures are fine and the outlet temp is in the 40's.

However, within a short time of leaving the service facility the outlet temp rises to the mid to high 60's and the dash air is not really supplying much cooling. The dealer contacted Newmar and nobody has been able to resolve the issue to this point. I tried clamping off the hot water hose to the heater core and that may have helped a little but the a/c is still operating way below where it should.

On another thread on IRV2, another CS owner said he had a similar problem and discovered the a/c compressor was cutting off around 1800-2000 RPM. He says the compressor cut off RPM is settable and they raised his to 3200 RPM and solved the problem.

Anybody know any additional details about this?

You will find all Evans info in this link, from your description hot water is cutting down on your AC cooling..
The control can be installed incorrectly as one of the threads explains, reinstall as instructions indicate or install a ball valve as many of us did or get new control which maybe damaged because not installed correctly.
Many threads back to the early 2000's with all the same result for correcting.

Thanks but I've already done all that. As I stated, I clamped off the hot water line with little (if any) impact. Right now it's in the hands of Newmar. I was just wondering if anyone else had been exposed to a resolution regarding resetting the compressor cut off RPM limit control.

Recently had same problem on my Ventana. On the way to have it checked out the AC simply stopped cooling. They found a bad thermostatic switch which is a Newmar part in the dash AC system, and replaced that switch. Everything works fine now. Apparently they replace a lot of these switches in the field as Newmar uses a cheap part in the factory with a high failure rate

Sorry, there was no part number on the paperwork, it was just listed as " Switch Therm". I have the old part but it has no markings on it. Sorry, wish I had more info to help

Have you checked the anti-icing thermistor? I had to have mine replaced.

I'm dealing with an intermittent problem in my dash air. Often, but not always, after about an hour or so of driving, the dash stop blowing cold air. If I turn AC button off, there is no change in the air temp, it just blows room temp, moist air.

If I let it run with AC switch (button) off for about 15-20 minutes and then re-engaged the compressor/AC button, then it blows cold air again, so I assume icing up or something.

Take a picture of the bad part and put it on here

Attached is photo of the thermos switch that failed on my Ventana. Have no idea where it is mounted but suspect its somewhere in my generator compartment

Earlier this year or last year, some people were experiencing condensation problems around the dash vents and dripping on floor and feet and circuit boards under dash.
The devise shown in picture does not show up as a Evans part, its location maybe installed on the top side of the dash board if it was installed by Newmar as their part to eliminate the condensation problem.
