2005 Dutch Star DP.dash temp controle only allows hot air. Fan control works and control for vents, and defrost settings work. Turning temp control has no effect on temp, only hot air. Are there any fuses for this control? Have called Newmar, they were unable to help.

This is not a fuse problem. It sounds like the EVANS temperature control valve is stuck. You can see this valve when you open the front hood, its on the top left. (passenger side). You can GOOGLE "Evans Tempcon" for more info.

Sounds like the Evans Temp Control alright. Temp fix for mine anyway was turn temp control to full hot with engine idle for about a minute, then go to cold. That worked on mine anyway. Its has worked ok since. Keith 2005 Dutch Star DSDP 3815.

You should be able to remove the motor that drives the valve on your unit, three or four screws. Then manually rotate the plastic sleeve. On my Sietz (Evans) Clockwise is heat, CCW is no heat. The replacement valve and wiring harness is about $123.00 from a dealer.

Does the A/C come one if you switch? Mine would only do heat, not A/C. Bought a new Evans valve and had it installed, now switching between heat and A/C is no problem. If you issue is that when it is on heat it is only one temperature and changing the setting doesn't seem to change the temp, mine does that also. It was that way before the valve went out and with the new one.
