Ok, completely different than what I have but I do this stuff for a living (Recording Engineer) so I think I know how it works from the picture.

To watch your DVD, first set the "modulator channel" to 3 or 4 depending on which TV channel has no station on it in your area.

Then push the DVD button.

On the TV set it to channel 3 or 4 (depending on how you have the "Modulator" button set). You should see the Dvd.

Just thinking, but with modern TV's, you may need to do a channel scan while a dvd is playing so that channel 3 or 4 gets programmed in.

If someone turned the electric element in the WH without water in it then the element burned up. I did it once in our 2002 DSDP. They tell me it's an easy fix though and the elements are a standard unit.

That's similar to my older one I installed a JACK ANT and get great HD LCD pictures from a number of HD stations, all coax cabling.
It has a tape button instead of your newer DVD button for movie selection.
My DVD is from my 5.1 stereo surround system I installed a few years back can find info on that in QT's 1 & 2, item # 2.

Have you tried this? What was the result?

The channel scan being most important. Modern TVs have to "find" active channels.

A few more questions to help me learn more about your system; When the DVD is on and you go to the TV inputs which inputs are highlighted on the TV?

You said the DVD as red/yellow/white cable going to the switcher box, what comes out of the switcher box?

What brand of TV do you have?

This was my first thought as well.

Success!! Thanks PDR John and Newmarpusher! I went back and did a partial channel scan of 3 and 4 and sure enough it did the trick. I did not have to change inputs on the tv. Apparently, the switch box only sends one stream of data to the tv at a time. All of it through the coaxial cable. It's not the best design today but works fine.

Thank You All!!

Steve

Steve

Glad to be able to help. That channel 3/4 modulator, coax switching system IS a bit old in the tooth.

Did you get your zone 2 heater issue figured out yet?
