locked up at the dealer now unfortunately. What i noticed yesterday was that I just flipped the battery disconnect in the inverter bay to on but didn't turn the inverter on. When i was in the coach the intelletec would not switch on (flipping the momentary switch to use) and would not display any battery voltage. Also, the main coach display above it (that will show how full your tanks are as well as battery voltage) also would not display anything. I have the powertech 7kw generator instead of the Onan. would there be a wiring difference with this? Also, the 'sizzling' noise that was coming from the electronics area (plexi enclosed box on to of the gen) the last time I tried to start it up didn't appear this time. I wonder if that sizzling noise could have been a relay in there going or having a latching problem. The last time I got the gen to run to try and charge the batteries, I couldn't shut it off with the remote switch on the dash (which is what I used to start it with).

We have a 1999 MADP 4080.
It has the Onan/Kubota 7.5KW Genny and no OEM factory installed inverter.
I have a user installed Xantrex full house 2k PSW inverter in the el bay feeding the power cord when required.
Will try to help in any way but so far all my systems work so don't have much help so far.
Looking forward to hear of your outcomes.

If you have the kubota then I think you have the power tech as the onan is a cummins diesel if im not mistaken. I have the same inverter as you as well. Hopefully I will get more answers this week. The fact that the intelletec disconnect does not light up or show any voltage leads me to believe that something it connects to or the brain itself is possibly cooked. Should know in a few days. How do you like the unit in general? Have you made any updates to any if it?

Have you been under your coach checking the harness wiring from Gen to batteries and to display areas and engine compartment, you have to many things going on and may have had some visitors that like your wiring harnesses.

Our genny is the Onan Quiet Diesel which is an inverter style generator powered by a 3cyl Kubota diesel engine.
Our coach is powered by a Cummins engine on a Spartan Mountain Mountain Master independent front suspension chassis.

Love our coach and has most OEM options except the 15 A/C's and small inverter option. Have the Howard "power center" steering as well.

Have made too many changes/improvements ourselves to mention but some of our favorite are shower door towels holders, whole house inverter, Compact Appliance 63Qt frig/frez on the pass thru slide, flat screen TV's (with no subscription DVR's) Garmin dezel 760, and 140 deg F thermostat for the electric side of the 10 gal Suburban H2O heater. DW's favorite is the separate washer/dryer.

We spend 6mo per year in the south with it gliding between dry camping spots and campgrounds. Stored inside at our home in the summertime minus a few week trips in the summer.

Yes everything still works after 60,000mi. with some maintenance of course.
Great Newmar product

Problem found! The battery disconnect relay for the Intelletec was intermittent and would either latch open (hence no DC power) or closed (killing the house batteries even though it appeared to be 'off).

It is located behind the panel in the ac compartment where the transfer solenoid is located. Don't know if this is in the same spot for other MA's or not. New part will be in Tuesday and we are getting two 100 watt panels installed, one for the two starter batteries and one for the 4 X 6v deep cycle house batteries. These are not so we can boon dock (although they will provide an extra day or two without the genny after we convert all the lighting to LED's), just to keep the batteries from draining as we have no power available where we store it.

The overall condition of the systems and corrosion I was concerned about were determined to be normal and can be rectified by some de-greasing/power washing followed by scrubbing the surface corrosion off and then prime/paint those spots. Lots of elbow grease coming my way but at least we feel good about the coach now.

Next steps will be the complete re-model...new thread to come!

Hope your not disrupting the Bird System battery charging system so when your shore line is plugged in it will charge all your batteries both house & chassis.

FWIW - On ours the house battery disconnect relay is intended by design to "latch" in either position with no power required after moving to that position. That's so when disconnected it's truly needing no power to hold it there. Intellitec designed it that way. Hope you are able to fix your problem and post results here after you change your solenoid.

The Newmar dealer is installing it but I will definitely confirm the connection method.

battery disconnect fixed and two 160 watt panels going in this week. One for the house and one for the starter batteries. Confirmed the B.I.R.D will continue to operate as normal. $2400 installed for the panels, regulator and booster...wasn't pre-wired.
