Maybe the OP meant to say Dutch Star?

It was pretty fight. They had every option. Diesel furnace, fiberglass roof, residential fridge, in motion sat. It was like they went down the list and ticked every box

I have all of those options and more. We did all electric, satellite, extra polar pack, 1 piece roof, 3 AC units, euro booth, dishwasher, outside tv. About the only option we did not add was the extra window in the kitchen. The DW just did not want the window. We also did the electric awnings and added additional awnings over the euro booth and large sofa window areas. Also has the oasis heating system, auto generator start and energy management system.

Maybe like the previous post indicated, sounds like they may have quoted you a Dutch star price.

The highest price I've ever seen on a new '14 DSDP was 404,000 or so, and that's from a dealer I wouldn't trust in WA.
Another one (at another dealer in OR) has most every option on it right down to the automatic adjustable steps and it's $394,000 list.
Sounds like the show rig was overpriced so they could lower it to the real price.
I got a price on an '14 DSDP from a dealer in FL of around $350,000, which I feel is still too high.

Trying to talk my DW into a new rig but our DSDP has been so good and still has a lot of life left that she can't see any reason for a new one. Would like to get a FSW inverter with auto gen start and new MCD type shades though. Would cost about $3,000 for it all so that does make sense.

Mr D, you may be right. I'll be visiting them in the next two weeks and will have time to go over everything in detail. That said, my budget number I'm aiming towards is about 225. If a new Ventana can't fit in there I may look to a gently used dutchstar in that range.

You should have no trouble purchasing a new, 36-40 foot Ventana with that budget.

We got our 2014 Ventana 4036 from Tom Johnson Camping in Marion N.C. With many upgrades. We had shopped around and found their price could not be beat.Worth a call. Ask for Duncan.

Glad to have all the above information. I'm interested in a new 37' Dutch Star but am having trouble finding either of the 37' models in stock to look at anywhere in the middle U.S.

If you contact Newmar, they can tell you when a particular model is coming down the assembly. They will let you walk it, while it's is in the final QA area.

Thanks everyone for the responses. While I live in NH, I'm at a work conference in Orlando and plan to visit Independence RV this week while here. Coincidentally, that's where my Dutchstar that I own now was purchased new. I bought it privately in West Palm Beach and took it up North to NH. They seem to have a great selection of Newmars on the lot and I'm very closely so why not!

The only N.E. dealer left up here is DAVE's RV in CONN.

I purchased my Ventana from Independence and found them to be great to work with throughout the process. Good luck.
