Deek and JoJo's '15 DSDP 4369 -- Delivered Today!!

Well, the grand process of planning our 2015 Dutch Star 4369 has finally resulted in our coach delivery today at Midway RV Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan! It was a fabulous, exhausting, productive day. We covered a lot of ground and we were frankly surprised at how many things in our new '15 model are different than they were in our '13 DSDP 4018. Newmar has really raised the bar with the new refinements they are putting out and we discovered that today in doing our PDI!

Midway promised us that we would get the same high quality delivery we would have had at Newmar's Factory Delivery and having done the customer pick up at Newmar with our last coach, I am inclined to say that they were pretty much right on the money! We are very happy and very satisfied we did it the way we did this time with Midway.

I am attaching several pictures of our new coach through the following Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k9obbbxw8...bcww3oE9a?dl=0

As you will note in the pictures, we did all we could to customize our Dutch Star by incorporating a number of '15 Mountain Aire items -- flooring, wall coverings, fabrics, leather, hardware. We also did custom colors for the outside based on the 'Dream' paint scheme for the '15 Mountain Aire, but substituted in place of the MA Panama Brown the '15 Essex Suede Brown. We realized that doing this made the overall paint scheme a bit more toned down and conservative, but this was remedied very easily by spending some more cash and adding Summit stainless trim on the bottom of the baggage doors, the wheel wells, the steps and the radiator ribs.

We love the Summit stainless!

We cannot say enough about the excellent treatment we have had from Midway and our salesman, Kyle Walcott. Midway's price was as competitive as we could get anywhere, we were accommodated with each and every request we made of Midway, and their service staff went beyond the call of duty to make us happy with the many special things we ordered on this, our fourth Newmar coach. I have sometimes wondered why so many of our Hoots group have placed their orders with Midway and now I know -- they are professional, competent and they truly aim to please. We are fully satisfied with our purchase through them.

There are, of course, always things you think about that you could have had on your coach if you had thought about them long enough. We have had that very experience with every past coach we have owned. This time, we feel that we not only got all of the specials we most wanted in our dream coach, but somehow, some way, we guessed right on all of them as they came out in the final product.

Last, but not least in any way, shape or form, we want to acknowledge the wonderful treatment we had from Newmar in planning and building our new coach. We had five pages of specials -- 45 in number -- and Newmar graciously allowed us to have all of them except one -- JoJo's oversized King Aire cup holder (which, through Kyle's intervention, we were able to order through Midway as an after production item). Newmar's unique position in allowing us all to do so much custom design work in our to-be-built coaches is, in my humble opinion, one of a kind in the motor home industry. I am awfully glad that they allow this and we are especially grateful to Michelle Howard and John Sullivan for the many custom design changes we requested and they allowed us to have in our new coach.

So ... we have one more day of PDI and loading of our stuff (and man, do we have a lot of stuff!). Then we're off for five days at a nice campground in the Grand Rapids area to test out all of our systems and accoutrements, followed by a spin down to Newmar to visit our friends, Swag, JCAT and Pshoe, who will be there for delivery or repair work, then we're off to Traverse Bay RV Resort for a full week as a short shake down cruise and to get some of our details ironed out for Hoots III which will be held there in mid September.

Thanks very much to all who have shared in our fun and joy in this new chapter of our motor homing adventure -- hope you all enjoy the pics.

Deek

WOW!

What a gorgeous coach! It is just beautiful. I love the color scheme and have to hand it to Newmar to incorporate all of your special requests.

Congrats!

Congrats, again guys. Can't wait to see it in person.

I can't get the photos to download, comes out as a blank file. So I'm just imagining a kick butt looking coach.

With all that planning and execution you should start a business as an "RV Planner". Hope the photos will return. I can not see then either a blank folder.

Congrats on the arrival and Midway good job.
