Dewinterizing residential fridge

Hi, folks! We are about to hit the road and have to dewinterize the residential type fridge. Our coach is a 2016 Ventana LE. Water is dispensed through the door and the ice maker is in the drawer freezer. I do not see any place in the refrigerator part where antifreeze could be. I think the door where the water is dispensed is sealed and therefore antifreeze cannot touch any food that will be in the fridge, so other than just washing it out, we should not have to deal with any antifreeze. We plan on just leaving home and running water through the lines when we arrive at our first night's destination. Am I correct??? Thanks for the help!

If it was winterized with RV anti freeze you should get some in the tray when you turn it on. They may just have drained the line too. Just turn it on and see what happens.
I leave my residential refer on all the time and turn the ice maker off. Headed out on Thursday so I need to go start it up.

The hard part is the ice maker. Might take a couple of cycles to flush all the antifreeze from the lines for it. Also is there a water filter in the fridge?

I just de-winterized my 2016 Ventana. After I purged all the lines, including running the washing machine, and had clear water at every facet, I did the refrigerator.

If you had a filter in your refrigerator when it was winterized you should pull it out and replace it with a newline AFTER you de-winterize the fridge. Get a large container and run the though the door water until it runs clear. It may take a few dumps until you get clear water. Turn on your ice maker and let it make ice. It took four ice dumps in mine until I got clear ice.

I left my filter in the refrigerator when I winterized it so it is contaminated with antifreeze. this was our first winter where I had to do so. I have since learned that they make a 'dummy' filter for the refrigerator which is the canister only. when I dewinterize I will take out the existing filter, put in the dummy, and flush until I get all the pink out, both water and ice. then I will take the dummy out and put in a new filter. next winter the dummy goes back in before the antifreeze goes in.

I run water out through the door water dispenser until clear. Then usually two or three batches of pink ice cubes until clear. And I always do all this with the dummy filter still in. After all is clear, I put a new filter in.

we have a fridgedaire refrigerator. I got its model number and then went to the fridgedaire web site to find the filters for it. they had the dummy filter canister listed. (they describe it as for people that hole whole house water filters installed and do not need a second filter in the refrigerator). from this I got the part number of the dummy filter. then an internet search of that part number showed several suppliers. found the cheapest and bought it.

My 2015 Ventana came with a dummy insert for the refrigerator filter.
