Thank you "007", however the 888 number for Don Montgomery is no longer working.
Also a quick comment. Diamon Fusion and a product call Glass Shield are to only true products I know of to help prevent cracks or rock chips to windshields that work. The guys from Crystal Fusion are former Diamon Fusion guys but the product is far from the calibur of the above two mentioned products.

There are many companies that do windshield protection and others that have kits to repair a chipped windshield.

Ocref -- I have a Monaco, with one piece windshield -- The first one didn`t last long -- Rock chips -- When I was in Oregon getting the windshield replaced, I was told of Diamond Fusion, & that Guaranty RV in Junction City, OR did that process - I talked with the service manager, & was quoted $1,400, & that had a 3 year gurantee against breakage -- I didn`t have time for the process, & returned home to AZ. -- I Googled Diamond Fusion in AZ, & found a glass co. in Mesa AZ that would do service calls -- The price was $250.00, & $50.00 of that was for the service call -- That was 2 years ago, & only 1 small chip -- That high price that Guaranty quoted, was for a glass replacement insurance -- I already have that insurance -- So shop around -- Another advantage of Diamond Fusion, is the windshield is much easier to clean, & better vision, when driving in the rain -- Bill Willard

Thanks for the reply. If you have some glass prptection company names available. I'm looking for a really reputale product and most do not offer warranties in the state in which I live. One piece windshields are expansive and I know for fact from having my other motorhome that glass breakage from rocks and to many claims causes one's rates to go up contraty to anyone might say. A glass warranty is worth the price paid.

Hi Bill and thank you also for the reply. The Country Coach replacement windshield for our formor coach cost $3800 approximately. The Diamon Fusion that we had at the time was well worth the cost of $1400.00 as our glass deductable was $1000.00. Better visibility, water repelling benifits, etc. made it worth it. The only thing I ever seen like it is Glass Shield, but no one has a warranty for either product in my home state. I bought the Glass Shield for our new coach and love it! Didn't get the Diamon Fusion this last time because of all the problems that we heard about the company. Don did our CC after the windshield was replaced.

Inquiring mind wants to know how it works. It would seem breakage is result of the collision velocity between the moving foreign object combined with the moving motorhome. How is the windshield strengthened by these products. I've always considered one of the large factors in greater breakage in motorhomes versus cars was the motorhome's lack of aerodynamic profile, i.e, the windshield is just standing straight up and down. Appreciate any insight offered.

RoadRohrers -- Go to -- desertbreezeglass.com -- scroll down to glass protection & then enter --- Good write up on Diamond Fusion -- They are the ones who treated our windshield on both tow & motorhome -- No major chips on either in 2 years & over 20,000 miles -- Bill Willard

Be thankful Mr. Montgomery is long gone from Diamon Fusion. He (and hence the product) have a very bad reputation in Nappanee.
Diamon Fusion and Crystal Fusion are now the same company (I assume the same product too). It is a "coating" on the glass and a breakage insurance policy. It is the insurance that makes it so expensive. I have had Diamon Fusion for 3 years now and still can not attest to it's value - in any manner. I got it simply for the 4yr glass replacement insurance so as not to make a glass claim on y RV insurance. I can only attest to Mr. Montgomery's botched paperwork for my glass that resulted in my out-of-pocket paying for my glass replacement.
Diamon Fusion
Crystal Fusion
Safe-Guard Insurance (the insurance underwriter for the above)
BTW - The Essex one piece glass replacement cost at Nappanee is:
winter rates $2,300 (1,475 parts + 825 labor - 11hours)
normal rates $3,000 (1,900 parts + 1,100 labor - 11 hours)
My personal suggestion is that if you need that one-piece glass, by any and all means, get it done by the guys in Nappanee.

Had my two piece windshield reset in new rubber gasket because when I had chipped windshield replaced last year they, local glass company, torn the gasket in middle bottom and windshield dropped out of top about 1/2" while in Florida last Jan.
Cost for new rubber gasket and reset two windows $950. Had to stay at Inn over night so new gasket would setup with heat lamps helping to dry sealant.
The job looks better than new very satisfied with Newmars work.

RVDude --We`ve had GMAC Insurance for years, & have $1000,00 deductable on collision, but none on glass -- Monaco replaced the windshield at their service center(since closed) in Harrisburg OR. -- They billed our insurance co. & I have no idea what the cost was -- That was over 2 years ago, & we have had NO increase in insurance rates -- I don`t know this for sure, but I think that insurance companys cannot raise your rates, because of a claim on windshield replacement -- Has to do with the windshield being a critical structual part of the body support -- Bill Willard
