Diamond Shield Replacement

Need to do mine. Anyone have experience with a company that does this, and what cost should I expect?

Try Diamond Shield. They have installers all over the country. They would know the best way to remove it. IMO Anybody else would be no better than you removing it.

Give Diamond Shield a call. They can tell you where their dealers are. I had mine replaced 2 years ago and DS will not warranty the product unless it is done by an authorized installer. Mine was done on an insurance claim but I think it was in the range of $500.

I talked with a guy at the Tampa show who does it in his shop somewhere in the Tampa area. Cost is $700. I know lots of guys who have removed their own...takes a lot of slow, tedious work, but may be worth it, depending....

Yes, depending. I saw one in an RV park a couple years ago on a rig that the fellow attempted to remove himself. Large chunks of paint missing from the scraper he used. $3-4K paint job to get it back to where the DS could be installed. Yes, depending.

I had DS remove mine on my 2008 Dutch Star. They used a release agent first. Then pulled it off while squirting on more of the release agent. 4 hours later the coach was DS and glue free. No scrapers to remove the film. I'm guessing they used 1 1/2 gallons of the release agent. They used plastic razor blades to get the sticky glue off. Paint was great. Well worth it in my opinion.

I just had mine removed and replaced on my 11 yr old coach. It looked horrible. I had it done by a DS contractor at Red Bay AL. Took him a day to scrape off all the old film, then another day and a lot of solvent to remove the adhesive and clean it up. Then it was about 4 hrs or so to reinstall. Because of the condition it was in, it was very hard to remove. Cost for the whole deal was $2000. Coach looks like new now. I do have to admit that it did a great job of protecting the factory paint.
