I own a 1998 Dutch Star which cam with a Dimension 4 Convection Microwave. The Microwave is on its last leg so I am looking for a replacement. The easiest would be to by a direct replacement so it could fit in the same cabinet and use the same trim kit. Anyone know where I can get one?
I tried searching on the Panasonic site but apparently the old convection model I have is no longer available.
Also, my microwave has a Ventline exhaust fan below it which my wife hates for two reasons. 1. because it makes the microwave too high and she needs a step stool to see inside or get things out of the microwave. 2. because it is very noisy. I am considering eliminating the exhaust vent so I can lower the microwave. Anybody care to weigh in on my doing that? We don't use it because of the noise so I wonder why I need it at all.

Do a google search. Have the model number, too. Quick search came up with several of them.

Not sure on removing the vent. The vent pulls the excess gas out of the coach when you are using the stove/oven. Without it, the gas build-up would trigger your safety sensor. Not to mention the chances of death.

If you have a roof vent at the stove area and use it when you cook, the over-the-stove exhaust fan could be eliminated.

My over-the-stove fan just recirculates the air - no outside exhaust. There is a super fan in the roof directly in front of the stove. We use it when cooking. stove fan stays off, but we use the light!

Good luck.

You could have a new cabinet made to lower the Micro for wife and use the outside vent off the convection/ micro to vent the heat from it. Need to vent the stove top at times also.
Your old vent has more than the controls for vent I believe and you would have to figure where and how to relocate those features.
Could be installed above Micro in new cabinet.
A convection/micro will build up heat and vent outside especially during summer months would make a more comfortable coach.
The convection oven would vent also the stove top. It can be vented directly out back of it through sidewall vent or with flue off top out sidewall vent, consider the clearence space needed off stove cook top also.

The new oven should be no problem, most are standard size and configurable on where you want the exhaust to exit.. On the Essex the convection/microwave vents into the coach. I think Newmar stoped venting them outside in 2007.
