I have two front slides with a sofa in one slide and a dinette booth in the other slide. Since we decided that we need another place for the other to sit/relax in the evenings for TV viewing, I am thinking about taking out the dinette to insert a sofa or chair and to use a portable table and chairs for dining that would fold up and slide at other than meal times. I don't want to overload the slide with additional weight, but I don't know how much a dinette booth weighs. Does anyone out there? If the sofa weighs a bit more than the outgoing dinette, will that be too much additional weight for the slide? This would be in a 36 foot Newmar Ventana.

Nolen, you should be ok with what you want to do.
I placed this setup with the table and chairs and the Corian counter weight plus cabinets with goodies inside may weight more than what you intend to do.
The low gear electric motor will crush a picture frame I had fall of wall without hesitation it will move your weight without a problem.

We customized our Country Coach (I think, the same slide motor) to fit what we carried. Hubby is a retired church organist and we carried a small, but full sized church organ with full pedal board in the place of the dinette. (pedals came off when on the road). It was right over the slide motor. All worked fine. So I'd think a chair or small couch would weight a lot less.
