We have an 04 Essex with a KVH under the dome and Direct TV and our receiver box [RCA] has burned out. Contacted Direct TV and they said they no longer have receiver boxes for that service and said that Camp World would be our best bet to get a box. We are not interested in up grading satellite for HD but would like to have maybe DVR service in new box. Any suggestion or ideas would be most welcome. Thanks in advance. Tom

Check craigslist for a used directv standard definition receiver. They should be almost free. Then take access card out of old receiver and place it in your replacement receiver. Otherwise camping world sells them new for $93.24

Tom, I believe the DVR function is only available on the HD boxes. My wife wants a DVR in our coach so I'm having to replace our Winegard dome with the Winegard Traveler SWM3 this weekend so I can get her the HD capability and thus the DVR box. Not an easy fix ... but she'll be a happy camper!

Hi tom chelbana,
One of my receives (SD) just stopped working (like last week). it is over 10 years old and connected to the coach KVH dome. I called DTV and they are sending me a replacement at no cost. My receiver is so old they to me to dispose of it. They do not want it back. I'm not sure why you can not get a replacement receiver from DTV.

My SD receiver still works at home but the 2002 KVH in motion will not work anymore because after Jan 1st, 14 they have stopped working w/ DTV on these older model KVH units. They just want you to buy their newer units. That sucks!!!! I will never use or promote KVH again in my lifetime!!!! Just venting!
