I use the Hopper & Joey at the stick house!
Thanks for any advice!

By “Automatic Open Face Satellite” are you referring to the Winegard Traveler? If so, that unit will not directly work with the Hopper 3 but it will work with earlier Hoppers.
There are some work-around for this issue that have been posted on this forum and elsewhere, but none of them are supported by Dish or Winegard.

Here's how to do the Hopper 3. https://rvseniormoments.com/tech-doc...egard-travler/
Lots of other good DISH information.

I just installed the Dish antenna and blindly did what Dish said and got the Wally before I realized I have no upgrades and can only record one show at a time.
I used to turn on one account and turn off the other and had the same capabilities on both accounts which cost me 5 bucks extra a month. Now this!!!
I still dont know what I will do about it so if someone has a suggestion I would appreciate it also.

You can now use any Hopper "version" (original, Hopper with Sling, & Hopper 3) with an off-the-shelf Winegard Travler. See this link.
If you have a Travler, I can't imagine using anything else than a Hopper 3 -- 16 tuners, 2TB hard drive, etc.
Here's how:

The DPH-42 works great. We use it on the Winegard Trav'ler installed on the Bounder. The Trav'ler on the Travel Supreme fifth-wheel is using the modification of changing the LNBF with a Hybrid. The trailer doesn't travel.
The Hopper is a great RV unit. Using a DVR frees your time to do RV things and watch your shows when you are free. With a Hopper, the recordings are centralized and viewable by any of the TVs when you want to.
We move the Hopper and Joeys between the Bounder and the trailer as we change for the seasons.

Thanks - this seems to be the solution I was looking for! Hearing from some that my NEW Winegard Open Face was not going to work was really not good news! So does the Hopper 3 use the same Joey set-up? I am assuming it does - are any of the joey's wireless?

Dish Satellite Set-up
I believe you can get a wireless Joey.
FWIW, I have a new Dish Traveler on my coach (my 3rd Traveler). I bought a Hopper 3. I bought the switch described in the post. Struggled with it for four hours and could not get it to work.
Would not mind hearing from somebody who does have it working to help figure out what I’m doing wrong.
Don’t bother to call Dish or Winegard. Tried that and just got blown off with “the Hopper 3 is not supported for use with the Traveler at this time.
While at the NKK Rally in Sedalia, I asked a senior Winegard factory tech about the lack of support by Winegard for the Hopper 3 and was told, “we’re working in it”.
The fact that a competitor, Racal Mogul, allegedly does NOT have this compatibility issue has got to present some problems for Winegard going forward. Wish I had bought the RM.

Yes the same Joey options.
On our Bounder, all the TVs had a HDMI cable to the same compartment, in the bedroom. So I have the Hopper 3 and both Joeys in that compartment. The RF remote work fine anywhere in the coach.
