See if it can be fitted with a Neutral Tow Kit. It is basically a programming change and an indicator light. I had it done on my 2011 ranger when I bought it.

In my opinion the only way you could tow your 2011 is on a flatbed trailer or if your 2011 is a 4X2 then you could use a driveline disconnect.

Others may have more info....
I can't vouch for which year F150 gained the ability to be flat tow but I do know that the only F250/F350's that can be towed are the manual 4x4's w/o SOF. That eliminates all LARIAT models and above because SOF is standard. You have to go to an XLT or lower model.

It was 2012, I know because I have a 2011, and had to do the remco driveline disconnect, then when the 2012's came out they had the ability to be flat towed.

Flat towing a 2014 Ford F150 FX2 3.5 Ecoboost V6

I wound up putting a Remco rear end disconnect on my 2 wheel drive truck. The truck tows fine but it's the only thing I've towed and don't have anything to compare it to. I don't know how it effects performance in the mountains but my gas mileage drops about 10% when I'm towing.

I will be adding a Remco disconnect to my 2WD F150 FX2.
. How much did that work out costing?
Do you have any comments on the mechanism ?
Thanks, Jeremy

I like the F150 for the room--- and because it looks like the M & G brake will fit.

Tows great! So glad I went this route. Rides so much better than the jeep! We also went with M&G. Did have to get drop for hitch as the truck tow plate is lower.

I had a Remco drive shaft disconnect installed on my 2010 2wd Tundra. Can't remember what it cost but I think it was around $1500 total. Works great.

Just purchased a 2020 F150 4WD, we plan to tow with our coach, any issues with the battery during/after towing?
Thanks

No battery issues, but the 12v cigarette lighter will power down after some time with the ignition off. There is an easy work around to keep it powered up.

We love towing our F150 4X4. We ran a charge line to the pickup battery and no problem with dead battery. JMHO
