Dometic ac on my 2008 Essex

My rear ac ( bedroom ) is only blowing cool air and will not maintain a comfortable temp . Anything simple I could check .

Take the actual temperature of the air at both A/C units for a true comparison. If the Rear A/C unit is not as cold as the other unit, you can remove the cover and make sure the baffles between return air and 'exhaust' air is still in place. You could also go on the roof and remove the cover of the rear A/C unit and make sure the coils are clean.

If the compressor is running, the above strategies may help. If the compressor isn't running, then about all you could do is replace the starting capacitor. The compressor isn't repairable, it's a sealed unit.

YOu have heatpumps on the roof. These units switch between heating and cooling with a reversing valve.

The valve is controlled by a solenoid and sometimes that fails, but usually in the heat on position. Sometimes the valve itself sticks and some have had success tapping on the valve to free it up.

Otherwise, these units are not serviceable and have to be replaced.

Search around for reversing valves for more info.

Check your thermostat and make sure the fan speed is set to auto and not some other setting.

If you turn it off for 10 minutes and turn it back on does it cool for awhile?

Can you hear the compressor start after the fan starts?

Please check your capacitor. Inexpensive fix and fits symptoms.

On the roof under the A/C shroud.

USE CAUTION The capacitor can hold a charge and knock you off the roof if not discharged before working around. Easy to do, like working with old TV CR tubes, but you do have to be aware.

Used to work in a motor rewind shop. Tested a capacitor start motor, unplugged it, then put the cord on the bench. Accidentally put a finger between the plug in's prongs. Won't do that again!

See here and look at 26 and 31 ....

The capacitors are under a metal cover (number 17) on passenger side of A/C.

Now I am having all kinds of weird stuff happen , In turn on my heat pumps and the furnace come on instead , shut of the boiler and then it kicks over to the roof heat pumps . I think my bus is possessed . I can turn the boiler back on once the heat pumps are going and nothing changes . The reason I have the boiler on is because my heat coils quit working a few days ago and I leave the boiler on for hot water . Have an appointment booked with North Trail RV Wish me luck

Try turning off the battery disconnect for the house system, or pull the fuse for the thermostat. Often the kinds of issues you're reporting can be fixed by resetting the thermostat.
