Dometic door awning out in the rain. Okay?

I know not to leave the main Girad awnings out in heavy rain. Is it okay to leave the small Dometic door awning out in the rain? No wind.

I leave it on purpose out in the rain. No problem.

It's usually fine but ....
Make sure it can drain quickly. The rail it's hanging from is probably screwed to fiberglass sheeting and not the frame .... and with a few sheet metal screws.

We have always left ours out when it is raining and low wind. I would be cautious if there are high winds or even the monsoon like rains.

I think we should be fine. Not much wind and the rain is steady but too bad.

For rain but not much wind, I figure that's what it's for.

I sure hope it's not just screwed to the thin fiberglass/plywood skin! It darned well better be screwed to the aluminum frame.

Not sure about door awning don't have one yet, but we let our full awning out most of the time, when it gets mad it just retracts, have we been in need of mental help the last 3 years?

I always figured that’s what it was for (rain). We VERY rarely retract the door awning, only in extremely high winds.

I agree. What else is it there for?

Mine keeps the midday sun off the dash and passenger seat.

It's there because it's a profit maker for the manufacturers.

I keep mine out most of the time, unless it gets real windy.
