Dometic Fridge AC not working

We have a 2012 DutchStar and the Dometic Fridge will only run on propane. We switched it to Auto, but when we plug into shorepower it still says Auto/LP. According to the manual plugging into shore power should make the LP light go out. When we press the button, the Auto light goes out, indicating that we are only on LP. The system is plugged in, and the breaker has not been tripped. Any ideas?

Hi sxulrwdc,
Welcome to iRV2. Can you tell us what model Dometic you have? This may sound dumb, but make sure the 120 VAC plug is plugged into the outlet. Most likely this is in back of the Fridge. One needs to remove the outside rear panel to see the plug. Since you'll have the outside panel off, consider taking off the control board cover. Mine has two fuses on the control board. They have a history of being temperature sensitive. With a meter, make sure there is power to the outlet.

Hello,
We think the model is a RM 1350. It is the 12.3 cubic foot four door. I looked at the AC plugs behind the exterior panel. There were two cords plugged in, and both were in. I also looked at the circuit breakers, and the 15 amp switch had not been tripped.

As Gary said you need to remove cover on control board and check the fuse for the AC Element power operation off board.
Also use a meter and see if you have 110 AC in electric plug of outlet, some outlets in coach maybe wired off the converter/inverter setup if you have it.
With the AUTO button you should be able to force either into LP or AC modes.

Hi sxulrwdc,
One plug is the refer the other plug is the ice maker. You need to check to check the outlet for 120 VAC. Go to http://www.dometic.com/9a72fc6e-2c8f...72a72b9e.fodoc for the user manual. The following is from the trouble shooting section of the manual. If you do not have a meter, plug another 120 VAC item into the outlet that the refer is plugged into..

The refrigerator does not work on
120V AC
Is the plug firmly connected to the receptacle? Is the socket switched on? Check the
receptacle by plugging in another appliance.
Are the fuses intact for the AC supply and control system?
