Dometic touch free panel

My 2019 came with a toilet panel that was very difficult to use at night. The button to flush is behind the plastic label, and didn't have a backlight.

Dometic offers several variants of the flush panel, but the one that I liked most was one that had a capacitive touch operation with backlight.

The capacitive touch works in two modes.

Touch free:
Wave your hand within 5 inches of the panel to flush
Hold your hand in front to add water

Or in the touch mode, two buttons that are backlit, operate the two functions.

I ordered the panel from Midway at a cost of $190. It required make a square hole from the previous round hole, but was otherwise plug and play.Click image for larger version

I put an adhesive “dot” bumper whatever it’s called over the flush button. Makes it easy to find by feel and just press it to flush. Cost: pennies

I was expecting to read that you designed some nifty electronic gismo and 3D printed a case/cover for it. [emoji3]

Guess you could 3D print a half sphere and glue it over the flush button. Fix is adding a design to be able to determine what you’re touching in the dark. Pilot cockpits are designed this way with buttons all shaped differently. I’ll email Dometic to suggest this.

Do you have the part# for this panel or a link?

The original mount and new mount both connect with a network type cable (Rj45), so very simple plug and play.

Before cutting the hole, I just plugged the new one in and verified operation.

The hole cutting was the hardest part, and that only took 5 minutes.

As usual Dometic is very short on details, so I have a question. How does this new switch change from high flush to low flush?

Same method, holding both buttons for 5 seconds until it flashes.

Dang it, redbaron73; you and Neal are adding to my to-do list faster than I can "do."

I suppose that cost is the reason Newmar doesn't use this panel version, but it sure would make life a lot easier at 2 am!

It just pulls off the bracket. The bracket is screwed to the wall.
