Door Problem--Need Advice

I have a Kountry Star 5th wheel that is mint condition. There is water getting inside the entrance door. The door has a weep hole near the outside bottom. Small pieces of wood that have had water damage are falling out of this hole. The door is hollow approximately 2.5 in vertical and 3 in. horizonal. There is NO damage to the skin. There is a seam that runs horizontal about 4 in. above the bottom on the exterior. I have calked this seam.

One idea is to insert foam into the weep hole. If there is still a leak, that will cause further trouble.

I talked to Newmar and they suggested that I wait until the International Rally and the technicians would find a solution. Waiting may cause the problem to increase.

I do not want to replace the door since there are decals, etc. and a lot of expense to solve a problem that can be fixed.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Do you find there is water leaking only when the 5ver is:
1. sitting still
2. after being moved down the road
3. both 1 and 2

The water is coming in the window seam, top of window or the bottom portion where the glass meets the bottom frame of window.
To fix you should remove the window frame and clean the frame of old sealant and reseal. You can find ribbon sealant at a dealer and as you tighten up the frame the sealant will squeeze out from around the frame.
Until you have some dry weather you could seal the window temporary around the glass to frame and around the outside edge of window frame.
