The metal bracket that locks the entrance door has all of a sudden lost its stop/detent. Essentially the door just swings free.
This just developed between Newmar and Spartan.
Anyone help out there. Is there an adjustment I could do myself? I haven't yet gotten on a ladder to look at it closely yet.

Looking at my door, there is a two piece folding arm that keeps the door from opening too far.
The bottom piece has a slot in it, and the top piece has a stud that engages the slot at the maximum opening.
The stud has loose fitting collar type piece with a gap in it to allow it to compress when engaging the slot.
Have you lost the piece on the stud?

Dirk,
Just looked at the hinge. I am missing that piece. The stud just slides in and out of the slot.
Is this an easy part to get?

Regrettably, any '07 DSDP owners with door issues are being told to order an '08 MADP to fix their issues...
Seriously.....me thinks your whiz bang dealer buddy could order the part,or if you're up for a return trip to Nappanee you could get it from Jeanne....Not like you don't know where SHE is...
Hey....where's Scott?? OH....he's over in the PARTS department!!

Bob,
You are an expert and what buttons to push. I haven't figured it out yet but, there will be retribution for the abuse.
All I can say is that I am happy to take it since my coach was the same color I left it in Nappanee.

Technically....SINCE my coach WAS snow covered WHEN I got to Nappanee,it was STILL the same color when I got home, although you win on a "technicality" since it was in fact CLEAN when I left the lower U.S.
I'll behave....jus' having a little fun with my new buddy!!!
Retribution? Wasn't telling me I WASN'T WELCOME in your campground payback enough?

What did you do to Bob, to deserve all the razzing?

Scott, The piece you are missing is plastic and has broken and has fallen out. While it is possible to replace the plastic piece there are two problems, getting the part and installing it. Generally Newmar just replaces the arm. If you are already home, or otherwise far from the factory, have a dealer order it on warranty. The arm assembly is easy to change out.

Hi Scott! Call Tom Schaeffers and ask for the Parts Mgr (Kevin I think, to early in the AM to remember) Ask him if he will drop ship it to you. He has sent plenty of stuff for us. Using my name may or may not help. I vote for GREEN for the 08 MADP. Paul
