Doorbell on a '99 Dutch Star?

Howdy,

We're slowly learning our way through our "new to us" '99 Dutch Star.

One question... There's a doorbell beside the entry door and I can't find any bell anywhere (and it doesn't work). The Newmar manual says something about a battery powered doorbell (IIRC) but doesn't say where its located.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Mark

The Door Bell button comes apart ( Look at bottom of base) revealing a fairly pricey little Battery that You can find at Radio Shack!
The Chime Box also just pulls apart and inside You will find 3 D Cells ( At least on Mine they are D's) This is what powers the System, it is wireless!

You can find replacement units at Lowe's or Home Depot. Bought mine there.

Howdy,

Sorry, I didn't say it the right way...

My main issue is that I can't find the chime box, so I can't check the batteries! :-)

Can anyone point me toward where they might hide the thing on a '99 Dutch Star?

And yes, I feel pretty dumb asking this question, but I can't seem to find the stupid thing. :-)

Mark

Mine is just inside the door on the Wall beside the Co-Pilots Seat! Since they are wireless It could be almost anywhere, or may even have been thrown away or removed by a previous owner. Our Rig was missing it's DVD Player and the Cartridge for the CD Changer.
You are looking for an Ivory Colored Box about 5 X 8 X 2 !

You will find the chime unit possibly plug into a 110 outlet. Doesn't require batteries in main unit.

I tried 2 different brands with 120 volt chimes.

Both burnt up from my modified sine wave inverter.

I now have a battery powered chime which of course eliminates that problem.

That's what I added to my DSDP.
