When I went to drain my fresh water tank yesterday I had to run the water pump to get any flow. I opened the low point cold water spiget and nothing until I turned on the pump. I don't recall having to do this in the past.
Anyone else have this experience or is it normal and I can't remember how I did it before. 2006 Dutchstar...

You did open the right valve , didn't you? On mine it is a gate valve on the lower left side of the bottom of the fresh water tank. It should just turn 90". Gravity empty. Pump shouldn't have to run. You are draining,I think, the low point drains, not the fresh water tank. You must have some crappy fresh water if you forgot how to drain it since the last time out.

Nope, I opened the wrong valve...the gate valve was not visible because of my hose. Its he_ _ getting old and not being able to remember...I was wondering why my wife smelt so funky after a shower . I last drained the tank in January and have been on city water since then at RV parks. So I guess its old age creeping up or too much "Jack"
Thanks for the help!

Hi Ronnie Bledsoe 2006 Dutchstar 43',
Consider, with the fresh water tank drain valve open, lower the front of the coach and raise the rear of the coach. A considerable amount water will come out of the fresh water tank. If level, the drain will not necessarily completely drain all the water out of the tank.

Surgery went well. We are now back at home. I spent 6 nights in the hospital parking lot. RV's are great for a home away from home. Water was good for cooking and personal hygiene.
Thanks to all for suggestions and thoughtfulness.
Ronnie
