Using the water pump constantly about how long could a person expect the pump to last considering the unreliabliness of all the working items on these new coaches.

Are you saying that the water pump is only suited for occasional use?

We replaced our water pump with a higher capacity, keeping the old one as a backup. The new Shur pump lasted about a year and a half. It was still under warranty so the old one was installed and the newer one returned for a new pump. We use the coach about 7 months a year.

Considering my previous Winnebago coach using a Shurflo water pump which was
replaced 4 times in 11 years and used for two 6 week vacations each year, only two of those each 6 weeks were dry camping using the water pump for that time.

Just wondering how long the ones in the newer Newmars would last, especially if used all the time.

No way would we ever drink water from the rv plumbing system. We purchased the Big Berkey water purifier. Best tasting water ever and according to their specs, the water is germ and bacteria free. We used to get our drinking water from water machines. This is more convenient and cheaper.
Also of note is that if all hell breaks loose, you would be able to purify some pretty primitive sources such as river water or mud puddles.
