We arrived at the CG yesterday PM. Set up BUT the front Drivers side Slide would Not go out.
I hear Dora tell me the Lock arms are unlocking and you have 5 secs.
The lock arms do unlock But the slide does not move.
I have checked Fuses, unplugged and replugged control box,Checked wiring, ETC
It seems there is no power to the motor, as it does not attempt any movement at all!!!

Any ideas on what I can further check???

Rick

This happens once in a while on my friend's 05 Essex. After the locks go in we each shake the slide from each end and after a couple of times it starts moving then all is okay (until it happens again.) I think it is dust on the limit switch, at least that is what I was told by a Newmar tech at the Gillette rally a year plus ago.

Good luck

I have had the very same thing happen to me. I finally figured out that I could tap the locking arm and the slide would then go out. I also had to tap it again sometimes to get it to come back in. Newmar told me that there is a proximity switch and a four pin electrical plug behind the lock arm. Worked for me 6-8 times and has never happened again.

OK UPDATE

After I posted yesterday I checked and rechecked again and could see nothing wrong!!!

SO I push the button again,Lock arms unlock and after the 5 sec wait they relock!!!
At this point I am not amused in frustration I push the button again and The Lock arms unlock and the Slide goes out as it should,

So now I am not sure!!!

I hope it will come in when we are ready yo leave~~

I will let you know

Your Dora and my Sally sometimes get confused (something like a senior moment). Repetitive trys, over time, have cured my Sally. Granted this does not build confidence, as there is tension whenever I am to activate the slides. However, once Sally went through her hissy fit, she has been okay (about 2 years) since.

Update

We are back home and All Slides worked when we packed up!!!!!!

Gary You are 'Right' about the NO Confidence!!!

Are you still in Nappanee????

I think h Moffit Might have something with the tapping on the Lock Arms, I guess if Dora does not know the arms are unlocked she will not let the motor run.

This is what I found the arms unlocked but Zero response at motor.

My next step was to put 12 volt power directly to the slide motor. But I was not sure about direction??? I would assume reversing polarity would change direction of motor.

Until "Next Time"
Rick

The plan is to leave on Tuesday, August 19. They finished all work today. If everything remains fixed through the night, we will leave for Spartan tomorrow.

Another Update.

On my Visit at Camp Newmar I had them check out my Non Operating slide.

They have found there was a reversed Polarity in the wiring at the Control Box they fixed it and say all is Good So far perfect!!

Why did this slide work OK for the last year or most of the time!!!

we did have a few issues!!!

Lug Nut or RVDude???????
