I can't for the life of me find the switch for the driver's side map light. Don't know if it is on the same switch as the passenger side and I have a burned out bulb, or I just can't find the switch.

Rotate the headlight on/off switch...turn it....don't pull it.

You also have another rheostat switch for the dimming of the dash lights.

I won a lunch from my buddy for finding THAT map light switch.

That was it. Now tell me where that is documented.

I did know about the dimmer reostat. I like mine dash very dim when driving at night.

Scott, I guess the turning counter clockwise of the headlamp switch is kind of a standard in the automotive industry for lighting the dome lights. Being such, the need for documentation seems to be left out. Besides, isn't it fun to find new things constantly?

Yes, I agree w/the auto thing. However, there is usually a detent at the end of the rotation and the dome lights are usually in the dimmer reostat not the headlight. And, even that is documented in the car manual.

Also, I have yet to hear why the little lights near the ground in the bedroom/bath area are called courtesy lights on the dash switch but, aisle lights in the bedroom.

I'm convinced it's a conspiracy.

Can't tell ya!! Tis a secret....

All I can tell you is that my buddy was twisting and turning EVERY thing on the dash and I said "why not try the headlight switch"?
He said......NO WAY,so I bet him lunch......he paid!!

and WHY are the rear slide switches backwards...the left switch controls the right slide, as looking to the rear...probably because no one wanted to make the labels non-interchangable from looking forward to looking backwards..I'm tempted to swap those switches and make my own labels for them. Does anyone know if there is enough wire slack to do this?

Think of all of the fun we have on this forum talking about these things. If the RV manufacturers did everything right, we may not have much to talk about.....just kidding. After being an owner of a few diesel pusher MH's, I have learned to lighten up over the many small things. Unfortunately, my quality expectations are much lower than when I started with MH's. So long as my dealer stands by to help, I just focus on the next trip.

Larry, as you may recall, my buddy Jeff has the EXACT same rig as you....
We've "threatened" on several occassions to change those switches but haven't gotten around to it.
I do think that if we were to check with Newmar parts they would have the "mirrored" version of what we need to accomplish and even if not, I'd just make something to work.

ON EDIT....Looking at Jerry's signature you guys could be the "Larry,Jerry and Jeff" trio...

BTW,there are plenty of Newmars here at Disney. I'm trolling for a free lunch from guys who don't know about this forum.

After three catastrophic failures and various other assorted issues I am proud to have been one that can simply focus on the next trip.

Stuff is still stuff and that's life!
