Drivers Side Map Light

Can't get my drivers side map light to go on. Switched bulbs from pasenger side, nothing,it looks connected. Is there a switch I don't know about other than what is on the light? I feel there should be a way to turn it on while driving down the road. Wayne

You might need to turn it on using the dash light dimmer switch. Ours has a switch on the lamp that has to be turned on as well as moving the dash light dimmer switch to turn on the courtesy lights.

That is also how our 2012 Dutch star works as well

Does the engine have to be on? Tried dimmer switch, turned all the way to the right and courtesy light toggle switch in the up position, nothing, engine was off.

The engine should not have to be on. Next to my headlight knob is a knurled wheel the brightens or dims the dash lights. Taking it to the brightest setting, then beyond to the click should turn on your map light, if it's the same as mine.

Battchief,
Unfortunately there is no click turning the dimmer switch all the way to the right, like a car. I used quite a bit of force, nothing, didn't want to go more thought I would brake something. Wierd.

Try turning your headlight switch counter-clockwise. That's what operates mine.

Slabman,
You da man! That did it. I noticed that the courtesy light switch could be in either position and the map light went on. What does the courtesy light switch turn on? Wayne

X2 !

On my coach turning the headlight switch to the left turns on the driver side map light, (no matter the position of the ignition switch or whether the headlights are on or off).

The courtesy light switch on our MADP lights the two floor lights in the bathroom hallway and one in the bedroom. One switch in the bedroom and one on the dash panel.

Maybe you need a Owners Guide , should also be a switch in bedroom for courtesy lights near bedroom wall along with the speakers off and on switch's.

X2 for this! The switches in the bedroom are not labeled, trial and error for me.
Just like the big round scare lights on the drivers side, extra wall switches for those as well.
