Drivers Side Window Leak?

I have an 05 Mountain Aire DP. The drivers side window appears to be leaking. I noticed a small spot on the rug by the drivers seat under the window. I checked the roof and removed the interior panels but couldn't find anything wet, but the floor under the window is. It seems like the seal strip against the bottom of the window (similiar to a cars) is away from the window a bit...is it possible rain is running down the drivers window and down the wall to the floor because of this seal? Anyone have this happen to them? In a car there are weep holes along the bottom of the door incase the window seal leaks...what does a DP have? Does any water that makes it by the seal end up on the floor?

Hi neilnbe,
1. Are you able to run water, simulating rain on the window and duplicate the problem? There are several places the window could leak.

2. Does the wetness happen when stationary or only after driving?

There is a catch basin that run the length of the window that is mounted on the floor. The basin has a drain tube that comes out above that front tire. You should remove the lower cover and give it a look. We had a rotten floor unter the tile.

It is a design flaw in the window. The window assembly is a tub, and when the drain tube doesn't do its job thee water spills into the electric compartment below the drivers seat and into the drivers compartment onto the floor.
Unfortunately, once it starts leaking the window assembly must be removed and the damage repaired. Not (from experience) a cheap fix.

It's a known problem with the electric window units. We have the manual window in our cheap DSDP! Glad I didn't opt for the elec. one!!

You shpuld not have to remove the window, just the trim pieces below the window.

The wiper seal at the bottom outside of that power window is mega easy replaceable (if yours shows any deterioration) and might help limit the amount of water getting into the drip pan....

Should be Newmar part 07940 "seal wipe btm pwr wnd" about $12 at Newmar....

Well I did get the interior panels off and have a heater blowing warm air on the area to help dry things out. I did notice the lower window seal was pulled away from the window when it was up. There was about an 1/8" gap between the seal and the glass, so I bent it back towards the glass a bit. It rained out yesterday, not much but some, and it did seem to stay dry. There was a small area about 2" long where the seal didn't hit the window tight and there were a few small drops running down the lower part of the window in that area.
It seems though that the window assembly doesn't have a drain in the bottom. It seems like the power window assembly is a complete unit that is set in the coach. You can't actually see the coach inner structure, and the unit actually seems to set in the drip pan. I can't see any where there would be a drain. If I go underneath the coach and look up I see a small white tube which would seem like a drain, but there's no way to get to it and push something up to see if it's clogged or where it goes. Obviously the best thing would to not let water in there in the first place, but I'd like correct everything while I have it apart. Does the power window assembly come out?

Because of the moving window you can't keep water out, that is what the drip tray is for. Try pouring some water in the tray and see if it drains out. If the drain is stopped up try some low pressure compressed air to clear the drain line. Some of the drain lines was routed wrong and caused them to kink. Make sure the subfloor is dry and their is no mold.
