We have a 2004 40'DSDP with a inoperable drivers window (it is up will not go down). I checked the fuse it is OK. Does the open/close switch pull out so I can check whether it is working? Any advise would be appreciated.

Possibly a wire came off the switch or the motor. You'll need to get at the backside of the switch to depress the retaining tangs to pull the switch out. I'd do some voltage checks at the switch to see if you are getting voltage there and then jump 12v directly to the motor wires to see if the motor is operable. Then you'll know the next steps.

Hi gypsyjim,
Do you have another fuse you can use. I think it is a 20A fuse. I know it doesn't sound correct, but just a month ago I helped a buddy with an 05 MADP, He had the same problem. I pulled the fuse and it checked good with a meter. I put in another fuse and everything worked. It is still working. Before gong to more time consuming steps, consider giving this a try.

I would try a new fuse. If that does not work, try to pul the window down with hand friction while someone activates the switch. Sometimes the seal in the upper channel will stick to the window.

I always have been concerned whenever I open the driver's power window. I'm worried that one day it wont close. That's a pretty big opening. I only operate mine when I have to.

The three times mine stopped operating over 3 years it has always been the wiring. It doesn't look loose, but when you mess with the back of the switch it starts working again (for about 8 months).

I am sorry to say it was not the wiring it was the motor. Long story but it was fixed in time for our vacation no thanks to the people in Ft. Myers. Never will deal with them again

have a 99 DSDP with a dead DS window that is down. I think it is the window switch and have one waiting for me at my next mail drop. If that does not do the job then I think it is the motor. I wonder if the motor is a newmar item or a freightliner item, the switch is newmar. Was the fix a time consuiming one?

I use my window all the time stick head out window backing up haven't had a problems yet. Water getting by felt pads for window if worn will allow water on motor wiring. If switch maybe bad just cross wiring until you can get a new switch and motor can get at auto parts as for a car replacement or junk yard maybe cheaper.
