DS 2016 Tires - Air compressor recommendations?

Looking for a portable air compressor so we can make sure our tires are always at the right PSI. Any suggestions?

Yep, after going through two of the cheaper units I bought a Viair 450P-RV unit. Haven't been out yet since I got it so no direct knowledge of it.

I'm not sure why there is so much concern over tire pressure. My coach can sit for a month and the tire pressure is less in the morning when it's cool, more in the afternoon as the sun hits them, and then way higher when I'm driving it. I bought the coach, weighed it, then set the pressures. I have a TPMS and I can watch the pressures change as the day goes on. Why would you need to carry a compressor? Are you out there constantly trying to keep the tires at some magic number? If you have to add air all the time there must be a problem somewhere? My front tires can go from 100 to 120 when I'm driving, the rears from 85 to near 100. Are you really going to go out every morning before sun up to pressure check your tires? If you need a little air, pull into a truck stop and add a little. Driving to a fill up place a few miles won't hurt anything. I don't carry a spare can of diesel.

In my case, I rarely use my compressor to air up my RV tires. I do use it occasionally for car and bike tires though, and it came in real handy when I had a valve stem fail on my RV. I lost a significant amount of air on an inside dual due to a faulty valve stem, and could have been looking at a long distance mobile tire repair, or worse yet, a tow, had it not been for my onboard compressor.

Can I do without it? Sure, but I choose to have one anyway.

I carry a small compressor because we travel with bikes, a blow up boat, a car, and of course eight tires on the coach. I can hardly imagine not having the ability to air up when needed. I carry this little guy from Lowes it's rated to 155 psi & it was about $150.

I have a pressure gauge on the air spigot by the generator up front. I get 125 psi and I carry a long enough air hose so that in an emergency, I can air something up. I had a TMPS sensor lose air because it wasn't on tight enough on my first run, and that's what I used. Did they not have air up front on the 2016s?

On our Essex on a Spartan chassis we have air connections both front and rear to connect air hose too for adding air or other purposes. The engine air compressor will give you 130 psi as long as the engine is running.

Used to be Craftsman, now sold by Porter Cable. Works great. Lightweight, low cost, compact, adjustable, handles to 120 psi in tires easily, etc.
