DS 2017 - Block Heater Operation

Can someone please tell me how to turn it on? I know about the switch in the overhead compartment but I also believe you have to plug something in somewhere - not sure where. Checked the electrical bay but there is no cord there.
Thanks!

2016 Ventana here: in our electric bay there's a outlet and a male end of an electric cord. We need to plug ours in.

Engine block? Maybe a switch along the bed frame? Seen them in the electrical cord bay too.. but I'm not sure if that's what you are referring too, and I for sure don't exactly know where it is, but someone will chime in shortly.

Maybe it’s different in the Ventana but I looked in the wet bay and can’t see any cord.

The electric bay. Where your shore power cord is located...

My friend the outlet is in the engine compartment directly above the motor...There should be a plug with an outlet.....Simply plug t in the outlet and turn the block heater switch to the on position inside the coach at the electrical elements...I hope this helps...Safe travels

Sorry, I meant the electric bay - there is no cord in there.

In my 2016 VT it is in the rearmost driver's side compartment; however I believe the DS has a side radiator there.

As Newmards3724 said, open your back hatch to the engine. You’ll find a 110 outlet. Now just locate the engine heater plug and plug it in. You can leave it plugged in as no power will go to the outlet without you turning it on in your panel. Of course you need to be plugged into shore power or run your generator.

Found it. It was already plugged in and I turned on the switch inside. But how do you know if it’s working? There is no indicator light on the inside switch.

Mine has a light on the switch. Otherwise the heater usually won’t come unless it below 40. But the light on the switch should still be lit.

If it is below 40 and quite you can usually hear the heater heating the coolant at start up. Making a cracklings noise.

Hi - Take a look at your power management and see the increase in amp draw.

Have they changed the block heaters in the newer models? All the block heaters I've ever dealt with are not temperature activated. When plugged in and turned on they continually heat.
